The private investor has been working with the project proponent since October 2020 to develop a portfolio of agricultural soil carbon projects in Eastern Australia. The objective of this assignment was to assess the procedures implemented by the project proponent to measure the projects’ carbon impact in accordance with the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative-Estimation of Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration using Measurement and Models) Methodology Determination 2021. Unique reviewed the project registration documents for compliance with the methodology and the overall application of carbon accounting best practices, with a particular focus on soil carbon measurement and quantification. The results of the desk-based assessment will be validated in the field.
