Food production is among the largest drivers of global environmental change. About two billion people consume low-quality diets and 820 million live in hunger. By 2050, overall food demand is projected to further increase and over 80% of the world’s food will be consumed in cities. With the gradual rise of incomes, consumption patterns also change. In light of such challenges, Solidaridad Network, a global organization seeking to make sustainability the norm across 13 major commodity supply chains, sought strategic advice from UNIQUE. We provided Solidaridad with the strategic direction to focus on healthy, inclusive and circular food system transformation through targeted donor landscape and partnership analyses as well as in-house capacity building on the topic.
- Analyze the landscape of food system initiatives and partnerships for Solidaridad’s goals
- Identify donor landscape for healthy, inclusive and circular food systems
- Provide the analytical basis for a methodological implementation framework
- Identify and systematize regenerative agriculture and circularity business cases
