Protected Forest Inventory Upper Swabia

The Forest Nature Conservation and Forest Growth Departments of the Forest Research Centre (Forstliche Versuchs- und Forschungsanstalt) in Freiburg are responsible for the observation, monitoring, and scientific supervision of the protected forest areas in Baden-Württemberg. A particular focus is on the protected forests, for which sample inventories are carried out regularly. Unique was commissioned to map parts of a protected forest in the southwestern foothills of the Alps by locating the sampling points and measuring and checking all trees with azimuth, distance, and inclination. This was a repeated inventory with a total of 53 sampling points.
