The World Bank Bio-Carbon Fund Initiative for sustainable Forest Landscapes (ISFL) has been implementing Oromia Forested Landscape Program in Oromia Region to promote emission reduction via a landscape approach. ISFL is keen to include livestock emissions within this program. The Livestock and Fisheries Development Project (LFSDP), implemented by the World Bank, has resulted in a framework indicator to quantify emission reduction from the livestock sector in the Oromia region. The project assessed the LFSDP Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system is capable of monitoring the parameters required to track changes in greenhouse gas intensity so that the resulting M&E procedure can be used to quantify emissions from livestock-related interventions.
- Designment and piloting of a M&E system to estimate emissions from livestock production
- Development of a manual and software for calculation of GHG emission intensity indicators
