Establishment of an Integrated Climate Change MRV System

The NDC Partnership Support Facility of the World Bank supports the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in developing its national climate change Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system for the upcoming Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) under the Paris Agreement. In this context, UNIQUE provided guidance and capacity for helping the country to identify and report on trends in greenhouse gas emission levels, climate change adaptation, and the impact and costs of climate measures. This included support for international and domestic climate finance flows. International and domestic policy needs were considered as well as development strategies and plans. Particular attention was given to the national reporting obligations under the climate convention, including national communications and bi-annual update reports.
