The Carbon Fund of the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) is designed to pilot the implementation of REDD+ programs in large-scale jurisdictions. Participating countries must first submit an Emission Reduction Program Idea Note (ER-PIN) based on which the Carbon Fund will make a decision whether or not to include the ER-Program in the Fund pipeline. The Governments of Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire developed ER-PINs with the aim to receive finance for two ambitious multi-sector ER-Programs large forest areas in their respective countries. UNIQUE was contracted by the World Bank to support the Governments of Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire in designing their ER-Programs and ensuring the technical soundness of the proposals.

  • Support the Governments of Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire in ER-Program design.
  • Engage the multiple technical partners in an expert working group to contribute to ER-Program design.
  • Ensure the proposal meets the methodological requirements of the Carbon Fund.
  • Ensure coherence, consistency and plausibility of ER-PIN document.
  • Facilitate communication between World Bank, Governments and technical partners.
