Forest management planning and reporting is becoming more important as a basis for advice and funding for forest management in private forests, especially in times of climate change. Currently, it is not effectively used for this purpose due to a lack of digitization norms. In this forest strategy project, the MLR has set itself the goal of strengthening forestry cooperatives to meet the challenges of climate change. The aim of the project was to support private forest owners and cooperatives with digital, customer-oriented operational plans using remote sensing techniques and considering risk aspects. The resulting forest geospatial and planning information was based on the forest owners’ formulated management objectives, followed official guidelines to ensure integration into forest information systems, and was made available in digital formats.
- Improvement of the use and value of operational planning
- Enhancement of the information quality and content through digital and remote sensing techniques
- Increasing efficiency in the preparation of forest management plans
- Design for integration into a state forest information system and definition of interfaces
- Connection of private forest cooperatives, forest owners, authorities and stakeholders
