Transforming agri-food systems to take account of ecological and socio-economic objectives are key to reaching the Sustainable Development Goals. The German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development launched its strategy on ‘Transformation of Agri-Food Systems’ in 2021, which serves as a framework on agri-food systems for actors within German development cooperation. Although the agri-food system transformation paradigm has gained international recognition, its meaning and implementation in specific global contexts still poses challenges. Therefore, Unique provided support to the GIZ for the strategic alignment on agri-food systems transformations in German development cooperation to increase its visibility among relevant stakeholders on a global scale.
