The Makueni Agroforestry Carbon Project (MACP) supports the adoption of Sustainable Agricultural Land Management (SALM) practices across 40,000 hectares of small-scale private farmland in Makueni County. Promoted SALM activities including agroforestry, conservation agriculture, soil and water conservation, integrated soil fertility management, integrated pest and disease management. The project will focus on native agroforestry species such as Croton megalocarpus and Melia volkensii, as well as nutritional trees like Moringa oleifera and fruit trees including Mango, Citrus spp, and Avocado. The Anglican Development Services Eastern (ADSE) will implement the project, with Unique serving as the general contractor responsible for extension services, safeguards, carbon credit generation and impact monitoring.
