The Himalayan Climate Change Adaptation Program (HICAP) aims to enhance the resilience of mountain communities through an improved understanding of vulnerabilities and potentials for adaptation. As a component of HICAP, the objective of the Climate Resilient Forest Landscapes in Tripura project is to reduce forest degradation and increase incomes of target groups. KfW provided financing and commissioned the consortium UNIQUE/GFA to undertake a feasibility study that would serve to guide the subsequent process of operational implementation, in close cooperation with the Tripura Forest Department. Building on Tripura IGDC I (2008 – 2017), the feasibility study team designed a project to introduce and strengthen sustainable, climate adapted and participatory natural resource management in the region.
