Schätzung der CO2-Vermeidungskosten durch REDD+ Projekte

The United Nations Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (UN-REDD Programme) and the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility of the World Bank support REDD+ capacity building and the development of the national REDD+ readiness plan. A national REDD+ strategy, a national forest baseline inventory and a national carbon monitoring centre is expected to be in place within the next two years. Nine REDD+ pilot projects with a budget of US$ 1.5 – US$ 6 million each are being implemented by non-governmental organizations. Such an investment is unique in Africa and is based on the strong existing foundation of participatory forest management (PFM) in this country. UNIQUE was contracted by UN-REDD to analyze the economics of these projects, focusing particularly on REDD+ opportunity, implementation and transaction costs.
